Ms. Orianna Riggs Merer joined The Cohen Group in June 2024. She supports clients in the defense, satellite communications, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy industries with geopolitical and regulatory analysis and strategic business development. Ms. Merer is a member of The Cohen Group’s Middle East Practice.
 
Previously, she worked at a public policy consulting firm in Dubai, UAE, advising Gulf ministries on labor, economic growth, education, and trade policy. Ms. Merer also interned at a think tank in Washington, DC specializing in counterterrorism, as well as in a healthcare venture capital firm based in Kuwait. She conducted social and legal work with asylum seekers in France and Morocco, including at the French National Court for Asylum Seekers, in NGOs, and at the Franco-Italian border.
 
Ms. Merer holds a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations with a minor in International Trade and Finance and a focus on the Middle East and Mediterranean from Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University. Originally from France and the United States, Ms. Merer is proficient in French, Spanish, German, and Modern Standard Arabic.
