Ally Sands
Senior Associate
Ms. Ally Sands joined The Cohen Group in November 2021. She primarily supports technology clients in microelectronics, software, and defense sectors. In this role, Ms. Sands supports clients looking to pursue federal funding opportunities, develop effective engagement strategies for U.S. and international audiences, and develop international market-entry strategies. In addition, she supports business development opportunities and helps guide clients as they establish government affairs functions. She is a member of The Cohen Group’s semiconductor and defense practices.
Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Sands worked at the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Latin America and Caribbean team, where she performed research and assistance on USTDA projects in the energy, ICT, and transportation sectors. Ms. Sands also worked at the U.S. Department of State on Latin America policy issues, providing in-depth, country specific research and geopolitical analysis and insights to Department leadership. She has academic and professional experience abroad including in Latin America and Europe.
Ms. Ally Sands holds a Master of Arts in International Economics and Latin American Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama, where she double majored in International Studies and Spanish with a minor in Economics.
