
Jessica Edelson
Associate
Ms. Jessica Edelson is an Associate at The Cohen Group. She supports clients across the information technology, artificial intelligence, defense, and consumer goods sectors with regulatory and policy analysis, business development, and geopolitical risk assessment. As a member of The Cohen Group’s China practice, Ms. Edelson advises clients on navigating business and policy landscapes across Asia Pacific markets.
Ms. Edelson has spent her professional and academic career situated at the nexus of technology, geopolitics, and policy. Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Edelson earned her master’s degree in global affairs as a Schwarzman Scholar. Her capstone project examined Chinese technology investments in the Middle East, with a focus on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data centers. Ms. Edelson previously interned for a Responsible AI research team at Microsoft and a strategy team at Nokia, and she has contributed to multiple NGOs on projects pertaining to privacy, cybersecurity, internet governance, and civic technology.
Ms. Edelson received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University, where she studied political science, media studies, and information science as a Robertson Scholar. At Duke, Ms. Edelson led the National Security Cyber Team, conducted research within the Tech Policy Lab, and served as a representative to the Board of Trustees. Her award-winning honors research examined the linkages between technology, state violence, and gender.
Raised in Pennsylvania, Ms. Edelson is currently based in Washington, DC. She has previously lived in Jerusalem and Beijing.
