Chief of Staff

Ms. Hannah Suh is Chief of Staff at The Cohen Group. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Suh served at the US Department of State as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, where she advised on the Indo-Pacific, technology, international organizations, and Congressional relations. Previously, she served as Policy Advisor for Indo-Pacific Affairs on the White House National Security Council, where she supported key initiatives to include leader-level meetings, Official State Visits, the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, and engagement with European allies and partners on the region. Ms. Suh also served as Special Advisor to the National Cyber Director at the White House, where she led the international cyber policy portfolio and oversaw private sector engagements.

Before serving in government, Ms. Suh was Chief of Staff at the Center for a New American Security, where she was responsible for managing the operations of the enterprise and executing the CEO and Board of Directors’ priorities. Ms. Suh is passionate about mentoring and developing diverse talent in the national security and foreign policy fields, having served as the Director of the Shawn Brimley Next Generation National Security Fellows Program at CNAS. She has held national security and foreign policy positions in Congress on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and strategy positions with the US Department of Defense under US Indo-Pacific Command.

Ms. Suh holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
