Artur Kalandarov

Mr. Artur Kalandarov joined The Cohen Group in June 2019. He works with clients in the defense, microchip, cyber security, biotech, legal, and communications sectors on market entry and exit, reputational and geopolitical risk assessments, business development, strategic development, and government affairs. Mr. Kalandarov advises clients on geopolitical, regulatory, and policy developments in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and oversees partnership and mitigation efforts for The Cohen Group's Ukraine working group.
Mr. Kalandarov's analysis and commentaries have previously been published in The Hill, Newsweek, Defense One, the Kyiv Post, The National Interest, The Defense Post, and Small Wars Journal, among other publications. Prior to joining The Cohen Group, he worked at the Center on National Security at Fordham Law School and the Urban Justice Center.
Mr. Kalandarov has a Master of Arts in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from Stanford University, where he was a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow. He graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College in Government and Legal Studies with distinction in Russian area studies. He wrote his master's thesis on Russian misinformation policies and state-building efforts in occupied Ukraine. As an undergraduate, he wrote an honors thesis on Carl von Clausewitz and the Soviet and American interventions in Afghanistan. Mr. Kalandarov is fluent in Russian.
