Marina Rivera
Senior Associate
Ms. Marina Rivera joined The Cohen Group in April 2022, where she works primarily with clients in the aerospace and defense industries. At The Cohen Group, Ms. Rivera advises clients on Department of Defense modernization priorities, international market-entry strategies, and trends in global supply chains. She is also a member of the coordination team for the firm's Women in National Security Series, which brings together women of all stages in national security and international affairs for networking and mentorship opportunities.
Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Rivera worked at NATO’s strategic command, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium. At SHAPE, Ms. Rivera worked with both security and intelligence offices, assisting with force protection efforts, establishing security protocol procedures, and performing strategic analysis in support of NATO operations. Previously, Ms. Rivera completed two internships with the Department of State, both at the US Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and with the Yemen Affairs Unit. In these roles, she collected geopolitical research, conducted planning and coordination for joint military exercises, and executed support-related tasks for US diplomats overseas.
Ms. Rivera graduated from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, with a degree in International Relations with Honors. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Young Professionals Briefing Series and the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Accelerator Series. She is proficient in Spanish, and hails from Philadelphia.
