Ms. Maisoon Kafafy is a Fellow at The Cohen Group, where she advises clients in the defense, technology, aerospace, and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, she is a member of The Cohen Group’s Middle East practice.

Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Kafafy worked within Egypt's international cooperation and development ecosystem. As an economic analyst and negotiator, she coordinated cross-sector efforts with the World Bank Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to advance development cooperation. In this role, she contributed to securing over $300 million in development-related loans, grants, and technical assistance for the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ms. Kafafy is also a Non-Resident Research Fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Born and raised in Egypt, Ms. Kafafy attended the American University in Cairo, where she earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. She later obtained a Master in Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she was a Public Service Fellow and served as Co-Chair of the Women in Defense, Diplomacy, and Development Council.
