Mr. Ben Drake joined The Cohen Group in June 2022 after serving on active duty in the US Army as an Air Defense Artillery Officer. He advises clients in the defense, technology, logistics, manufacturing, and energy sectors to develop engagement strategies, navigate the Department of Defense acquisition ecosystem, and mitigate geopolitical risk. As a member of The Cohen Group’s Defense Practice, he oversees the coordination for its internal Army and Space Force portfolios.

During his time in the Army, Mr. Drake served primarily in leadership and tactical roles in the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. As a Platoon Leader and Officer-in-Charge for a Patriot missile defense crew, he executed a 10-month no-notice operational deployment overseas in support of Operation Spartan Shield where he managed the air and missile defense of a major US asset in the region. After returning to the US, Mr. Drake continued to serve as a Platoon Leader, leading Soldiers while executing a major system upgrade and conducting training operations for a follow-on deployment. He then served as a Battalion Patriot Tactical Director for a second operational deployment oversees, where he served as the senior tactical advisor to the Battalion Commander and managed the air and missile defense of a number of major US assets across several countries in the region.

Mr. Drake graduated from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service. While at Georgetown, he was a member of Campus Outreach and the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps and was recognized for his academic and leadership achievements with the Distinguished Military Graduate Award.
