Sarah Karle
Associate Vice President
Ms. Sarah Karle is an Associate Vice President at The Cohen Group. She has spent the majority of her career at the intersection of foreign policy, government, and international business.
Most recently, Ms. Karle served as the Acting Director of the Office of Middle East and North Africa at the US Department of Commerce. In this role, she led the Department’s commercial engagement and strategic policy development for the Middle East region. This included advising multinational companies on global trade, geopolitical risk, investment, and complex regulatory environments, and building relationships between the private sector and senior government officials. She played an integral role in facilitating private sector engagements and bilateral agreements as part of the 2025 Presidential visit to the Gulf.
Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, Ms. Karle was the Senior Director of Middle East Affairs at the US Chamber of Commerce, drawing upon her understanding of geopolitical risk in the Middle East to advise and advocate for the business community and representing the US Chamber of Commerce in high-level engagements with key US and foreign government officials.
Ms. Karle also served in the US Department of Treasury in the Office of Technical Assistance and in the government affairs division of the American Dental Association.
She holds a Master’s of International Affairs focusing on International Development and Economic Policy from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Kentucky. She is conversational in French and Fulani, with additional language skills in Arabic and Wolof.
