Ally Shane
Director of Operations
Ms. Ally Shane joined The Cohen Group in November 2021 and serves as Director of Operations. In this role, Ms. Shane supports firmwide operations and strategic initiatives, with a focus on performance management, professional development, workplace engagement, business development, staffing, and internal processes. She works across the firm to strengthen the systems and processes that support colleagues and client service and helps lead business development efforts from initial opportunity screening through scoping and client onboarding.
Prior to assuming her current role, Ms. Shane served as a Senior Associate, advising technology, microelectronics, software, and defense clients on federal funding opportunities, US and international engagement strategies, international market entry, business development, and the establishment of government affairs functions. She also contributed to The Cohen Group’s semiconductor and defense practices.
Before joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Shane worked on the Latin America and Caribbean team at the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), supporting energy, information and communications technology, and transportation projects. She also worked on Latin America policy at the US Department of State, providing country research and geopolitical analysis to Department leadership. Her academic and professional experience includes time in Latin America and Europe.
Ms. Shane holds a Master of Arts in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama, where she double majored in International Studies and Spanish.
