Ms. Marlies Westermann joined The Cohen Group in October 2026. She supports clients in the advanced technology, aerospace, and defense sectors.
 
Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Ms. Westermann worked as a Research Associate at the Stimson Center where she examined US defense policy in the Indo-Pacific, naval strategy, and military logistics. Ms. Westermann was a 2024 Defense Innovation Unit National Security Innovation Network X-Force Fellow at US European Command where she analyzed defense procurement processes within US security assistance initiatives. She also interned with the International Trade Administration at the US Department of Commerce.
 
Ms. Westermann holds a Master of International Affairs degree from The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in political science and minors in history and sociology.
