Terrill McCombs joined The Cohen Group in April 2017. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at the Department of Homeland Security as an Executive Assistant in the Federal Protective Services (FPS). While there, Mr. McCombs supported the Principal Deputy Director and other senior leaders helping FPS in its mission to protect Federal Facilities, their occupants and their visitors. In this role he was responsible for managing the Principal Deputy Director’s calendar and travel, managing the office assignment tracking system and coordinating administrative task to FPS Regional Offices.
Prior to DHS, Mr. McCombs spent eight years at the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration as both an Executive and Research Assistant. In this capacity he was essential in compiling, tracking, and logging workplace facilities nationwide, along with supporting senior leadership in his office. Mr. McCombs conducted office procurement requests, completed all credit card purchases and reconciled reimbursements, and was the point of contact for all office property for the Electronic Property Management System.
Mr. McCombs attended Western Kentucky University (WKU) on a full athletic track and field scholarship. During his All-American track and field career he was a 10-time Conference Champion and was a member of the USA Junior Olympic Team in 2007. At WKU, Mr. McCombs received his degree in Business Administration and has been a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. since 2008. Mr. McCombs is a native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland where he still likes to play competitive sports.
