Isabelle Howes joined The Cohen Group from the legal department of Quicken Loans Inc., based in Detroit. Her work experience includes a district staff position in the office of US Rep. John Dingell, translator for the European art department at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and research associate for Professor Jeffrey Lantis, whom she helped complete a college textbook on US foreign policy.
In 2013, she graduated magna cum laude from the College of Wooster, where she majored in international relations with a double minor in French and German and was awarded honors in political science and foreign languages. Her senior independent study thesis explored how multinational businesses can affect decision making in international treaty negotiations, with particular emphasis on US and German automakers. In 2012 she studied German literature and French at the Sorbonne in Paris, and spent her elementary school years in Wiesbaden, Germany, where her father was based as a foreign correspondent.
