Ian McDonnell joined The Cohen Group in June 2015 after graduating from the School of Policy and International Affairs at the University of Maine with an MA in Global Policy and concentration on international trade and commerce.
While at the University of Maine, Ian interned with Mercy Corps, a leading international development organization engaged in areas of extreme conflict and crisis. He helped compile extensive research reports looking into the factors impacting poverty and instability among some of the world's most fragile states. The report was commission to be used as an internal strategy document for senior leadership.
Ian received his undergraduate education from Colby College, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics. At Colby, he was a member of multiple student organizations and worked as a tutor and Teacher's Assistant for Multi and Single-Variable Calculus. He culminated his economics studies with a regression analysis of the effect that high school laptop programs in Maine had on SAT scores.
Previously Ian worked with The Cohen Group as a summer intern in 2014, and continued to provide research support to the firm throughout his last year of graduate school.
